Emilia Copeland in-game animation sets

BA Hons Game Art students direct professional actor Emilia Copeland at University of Worcester’s Motion Performance Centre for work on in-game animation sets.Second Year students on the BA Hons Game Art course were recently joined by professional actor and filmmaker, Emilia Copeland as part of their Character Rigging and Motion Capture module. Students were tasked with directing Emilia at our Motion Performance Centre in a range of movements designed for in-game animation. Characters included a detective, a fox-girl, a warrior, a Victorian flower-seller, a dancer, and a cyberpunk. Emilia worked sympathetically with first-time directors, responding to feedback and adding her creative input to the performances.

Emilia’s credits include major productions such as Dr Who, as well as working as a model for MCM Comic Con and voiceover work for games, having trained with Jess Nesling of Baldur’s Gate 3 fame.

The students are now busy finalising their in-game animation assets for their demos, making sure these work in Unreal Engine and are applied to their game characters.
